Oakland, California, United States East Bay Community Foundation Full time
About the East Bay Community Foundation

The East Bay Community Foundation is a leading philanthropic organization dedicated to advancing a Just East Bay. Founded in 1928, we are one of the nation's first community foundations, committed to creating a more equitable and just society.

Our Mission

We work to advance a Just East Bay by addressing the root causes of inequality and promoting social justice. Our four core program strategies are:

Arts and Culture for Social and Racial Justice

We believe that the arts and culture have the power to build community resilience and give voice to marginalized communities. We support initiatives that promote social and racial justice through the arts.

Capacity Building with a Racial Equity Lens

We help strengthen organizations and individuals working towards social justice by providing capacity-building support and resources. We focus on building the capacity of organizations led by and serving communities of color.

Community Organizing, Power Building, and Movement Building

We believe that social movements led by communities most impacted by injustice are the most effective drivers of change. We resource and support organizations led by and serving communities of color.

Fostering Inclusive Economic Models

We work to address racial and economic inequities in our region by promoting inclusive economic models. We support initiatives that promote entrepreneurship, workers' rights, and impact investing.
