About the Job

Richmond Behavioral Health Authority is seeking a part-time Licensed Practical Nurse to join our REACH team. The successful candidate will perform intermediate human support work in the care and treatment of clients, managing medications, transcribing orders, and administering injections.

Key Responsibilities
  • Admits clients to the program; obtains physician orders; order medications; collaborates with pharmacy; transcribes orders
  • Assesses and evaluates clients; obtains and reviews pertinent medical data; collects vital signs and specimens; monitors client's response to treatment
  • Manages, sorts and prepares medications for distribution to patients; evaluates, reviews and monitors medication compliance
  • Administers injections, immunizations, and medications with training and supervision; assist the physician as needed
Requirements
  • Graduation from a State-accredited program of practical nurse education and moderate experience as a practical nurse in a behavioral health setting
  • Possession of a current license as a Practical Nurse issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Nursing
  • CPR certification
