RBHA is seeking a part-time LPN to join our REACH team. As a member of our clinical staff, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care and treatment to our clients.
The successful candidate will have a thorough knowledge of practical nursing techniques and the care and treatment of all types of clients. They will be skilled in preparing and administering medications, as well as operating specialized equipment used in the area of assignment.
This position requires the ability to make astute observations of patient's conditions and to report changes accurately. The LPN must also be able to understand, interpret, and relate oral and written instruction, and solve problems within scope of responsibility.
We are looking for an individual who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and is committed to maintaining a positive and inclusive work environment.
Essential Functions
* Admit clients to the program; obtain physician orders; order medications; collaborate with pharmacy; transcribe orders
* Assess and evaluate clients; obtain and review pertinent medical data; collect vital signs and specimens; monitor client's response to treatment
* Manage, sort, and prepare medications for distribution to patients; evaluate, review, and monitor medication compliance
* Administer injections, immunizations, and medications with training and supervision; assist the physician as needed
* Draw venous blood, fingerstick, urine, and other routine laboratory work; obtain and process specimens; send to the laboratory for analysis
* Consult with physicians, case managers, team members, and pharmacies on new orders, changes, preauthorizations, and lab results; review and verify discharge orders
* Respond to medical emergencies and call emergency medical services for clients and staff when warranted
* Complete incident reports, documentations, notifications, and follow-ups as applicable
* Prepare and maintain patient charts, logs, and records; order, track, and stock supplies and medications
* Provide crisis intervention services as necessary
* Attend meetings, seminars, and training as required
Requirements
* Graduation from a State-accredited program of practical nurse education and moderate experience as a practical nurse in a behavioral health setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Possession of a current license as a Practical Nurse issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Nursing
* CPR certification
* Valid driver's license in the Commonwealth of Virginia
