Position Overview:
As the primary legal consultant for the Commander and senior leadership of the Joint Munitions Command (JMC), you will provide expert legal counsel on critical issues impacting operations, production, and external relations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the main legal point of contact for JMC leadership, offering guidance on various legal matters including Procurement, Contract Litigation, and Fiscal Law.
- Operate independently, utilizing your initiative and expertise to navigate complex legal frameworks and regulations.

- Regularly brief senior officials on legal matters affecting the ammunition sector, ensuring they are informed on operations, acquisitions, and compliance with fiscal regulations.

- Oversee and support installation attorneys within JMC, providing legal advice on contract formation, negotiation, and termination, particularly in cases involving intricate legal challenges.

- Supervise a team of legal professionals, ensuring adherence to legal standards and best practices in various legal fields.

- Interpret and advise on relevant laws and regulations, including the Competition in Contracting Act and the Procurement Integrity Act, as they pertain to procurement activities.

- Collaborate with the Procurement Fraud Advisor to monitor and coordinate responses to instances of fraud or corruption.

- Defend the interests of the Army in legal disputes, working alongside attorneys from the Army Materiel Command and the Department of Justice.

Qualifications:
- Applicants must possess a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school and maintain active bar membership in good standing.
- A minimum of three years of professional legal experience is required, particularly in areas relevant to the position.

- Demonstrated skills in managing complex legal issues and mentoring junior attorneys are essential.
- Candidates should exhibit a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion within the workplace.

Additional Information:
- This position may require obtaining a Secret security clearance and submission of a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report.

- Candidates will be evaluated based on their qualifications and ability to fulfill the responsibilities outlined above.
