Job Summary

As a Patient Support Technician for Children's Blood Disorders, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our young patients. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the Registered Nurse in meeting the basic needs of our patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout their stay.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, washing hair, brushing teeth and hair, and washing hands.
  • Support patients with nutrition and feeding needs, including assisting with feeding, drinking, and setting up meal trays.
  • Help patients with ambulation, including dangling, walking, and implementing fall prevention measures under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
  • Meet patients' needs related to elimination, including assisting with using a bedside commode, bedpan, or urinal.
  • Accurately monitor inputs and outputs, and complete and document patient vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, heart rate, and oxygenation via pulse ox or ETC02.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Completion of Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) course or nursing fundamentals from an accredited organization required.
  • Previous CNA or CMA or related experience preferred.
