Avery Creek Pet Hospital is a full-service animal hospital located in Arden, North Carolina, next to Lake Julian and just south of Asheville. Our hospital provides veterinary care to dogs and cats, utilizing electronic medical records and state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment.
Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and compassionate Lead Veterinarian to join our team. As a key member of our hospital staff, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, developing rapport with clients, and contributing to the overall success of our practice.
Responsibilities- Provide exceptional patient care, including physical examinations, surgeries, and dentistry
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing education and support to ensure the best possible outcomes for their pets
- Monitor and manage associate doctor performance and production
- Collaborate with hospital management to drive financial performance and achieve business goals
- Stay up-to-date with new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine, attending continuing education meetings and workshops
- Assist in the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and exceptional client service
- Represent the hospital in a professional and positive manner, both within the community and to the general public
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university
- Licensure in good standing to practice in the state of North Carolina
- 3+ years of leadership/management experience, preferably in a veterinary setting
- 3+ years of experience as a veterinarian, with a strong focus on patient care and client communication
- Professional comportment and appearance, with excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, friendly attitude
- Ability to lead and motivate a team of veterinarians and support staff
- Respect for and willingness to work with clients and their pets
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care
- Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics
