Job Summary:

As a key member of our mental health team at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients. Under the supervision of a licensed Psychologist or board-certified Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with a range of mental health needs. Your expertise will be essential in developing and implementing effective treatment plans, collaborating with other healthcare professionals, and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Mental Health Assessment and Treatment: Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions to patients of all ages.
  • Collaboration and Consultation: Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, primary care physicians, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care and effective treatment outcomes.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes, adhering to state and national regulations.
  • Education and Training: Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices, research, and evidence-based treatments in mental health.
  • Supervision and Leadership: Receive supervision from licensed professionals and provide guidance and support to junior team members as needed.
Requirements:
  • Education: PhD/PsyD/EdD in Clinical, Counseling, Health, or School Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • License and Certification: Psychologist License (California) within 24 months of hire and Psychological Assistant Registration (California) required at hire.
  • Experience: Completion of a psychology doctoral internship (minimum 1 year, 1500 hours) and previous clinical experience in assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with mental health needs.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous Experience: Previous clinical experience in crisis intervention, individual and group psychotherapy, and psychological evaluations.
  • Education and Training: Demonstrated expertise in psychological testing, assessment, and treatment planning, as well as experience in working with diverse patient populations.
