We are seeking an exceptional individual to fill the position of Tropical Plant Pathology Specialist. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a research and extension program focused on plant virology, with a particular emphasis on tropical regions. Your expertise will be essential in understanding the complex interactions between plants, viruses, and vectors, and developing effective strategies for managing plant viral diseases. Responsibilities include developing novel techniques for virus detection and genome characterization, co-teaching courses in plant pathology, and providing expertise to the Agricultural Diagnostic Service Center for plant virus diagnosis and control.

You will need to possess a Doctorate in Plant Pathology or a related field, with significant experience in plant virology. You must also be able to teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels, have a strong publication record, and be proficient in molecular virology. The estimated annual salary for this position is around $100,000 - $120,000, depending on your qualifications.
