We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Virologist to join our team at the University of Hawai'i. As a key member of our Plant and Environment Protection Sciences department, you will be responsible for leading research and extension programs in tropical plant virology.
Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year

Responsibilities
- Develop a balanced research program in basic and applied aspects of tropical plant virology, including investigating host-plant resistance to viruses on key crops in Hawaii and understanding the genetics and biology of plant-virus interactions.
- Teach courses such as PEPS 606 (Biology of Plant Pathogens) and PEPS 714 (Advanced Plant Virology).
- Provide expertise to the Agricultural Diagnostic Service Center for plant virus diagnosis and control.
Requirements
- Doctorate from a recognized college or university in Plant Pathology or a related field with experience in Plant Virology.
- Ability to teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate level.
- Demonstrated research productivity as evidenced by publications in peer-reviewed journals.
