The Director of Medical Critical Care Services is responsible for supporting the Medical ICU and Intermediate Medical Care Unit. This role reports to the Chief Nursing Officer and is accountable for high-quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and resource management related to patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practice on each unit.
- Supervise and evaluate work activities of all nursing personnel and provide clinical leadership and set strategic and long-term goals for the nursing staff.
- Assess performance objectives for each nursing unit and organize, coordinate, develop, and review policies, procedures, and nursing protocols to meet all regulatory, compliance, and quality care standards.
- Provide direct care as needed and assume 24/7 responsibility of Director's assigned areas.
- Active and current Registered Nurse license in the state of North Carolina.
- Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven leadership ability and hospital operational ability.
- Ability to serve as a role model and advocate for the professional discipline of nursing.
