Job Overview


This role is integral to the provision of meal services for patients, encompassing menu selections, tray assembly, delivery and retrieval of trays, as well as the disassembly of used trays. Responsibilities also include food preparation, accommodating special requests, and ensuring cleanliness of trayline stations and equipment, along with restocking as necessary.

This position requires effective communication to address patient food-related concerns and liaise with the area dietitian and nutrition supervisor. Additionally, support for the dietitian in monitoring fluid intakes is expected.


Familiarity with dietary restrictions and modified diets is essential to ensure that food preferences align with dietary guidelines and restrictions. The role is accountable for delivering quality service, as reflected in patient satisfaction surveys on the assigned unit.


Additional tasks may be assigned by the reporting manager, and specific daily routines will be outlined.


Job Requirements

High School Diploma
Ability to read and perform basic mathematical calculations, along with proficient reading and writing skills
1-2 years of experience in a relevant field
