Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Underwriting Director to lead our Commercial division. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing underwriting policies, procedures, and best practices for commercial lines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the commercial underwriting team, providing strategic direction and guidance to ensure profitable growth.
  • Develop and implement underwriting policies, procedures, and best practices for commercial lines.
  • Produce excellent loss ratios with best-in-class underwriting strategies.
  • Collaborate with senior management to align underwriting strategies with overall business objectives.

  • Stay abreast of market trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to inform underwriting decisions.
  • Maintain strong relationships with brokers, agents, and clients to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial underwriting, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience with perils such as hail, hurricane, wildfire, winter storm, earthquake, flood, and more.
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial insurance products and risk management.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Professional designations such as CPCU, ARM, or equivalent are preferred.
