Job Overview

As an Electrical Systems Designer at Linked, LLC, you will be responsible for leading the design and coordination of all aspects of work related to distribution for utilities, smart grid automation systems, and the integration of smart devices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and prepare distribution voltage packages for both overhead and underground projects, including distribution equipment installation, feeder replacement, cable replacement, and new feeder design.
  • Design various new business projects, including line extensions (primary and secondary) and services of various degrees of difficulty and customer types (residential, commercial, industrial, developments).
  • Design in a CAD system.
  • Work on customer easements (or work with Right of Way Department)
  • Work on local permits (or work with Permitting Department.
  • Tracks and coordinates project progress.
  • Create project scopes and materials in tools like SAP or Maximo.
  • Coordinate field/construction work, closeout, etc.
  • Obtaining field notes outdoors and occasionally work in remote areas.
  • Responsible for leading QA/QC efforts.
  • Ability to work with NESC standards and utility standards, guides, specifications, and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by Project Manager.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program.
  • Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) is preferred.
  • Minimum three to five (3-5) years of electrical engineering experience.
  • Experience with power system analysis using CYME or ETAP is preferred.
  • Experience with load flow and fault studies is a plus.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Interpret sketches, drawings, building program and other similar material.
  • Primarily work in an office setting.
  • Ability to travel and/or work in the field as needed.
