Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at Johns Manville's plant. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for conducting effective problem-solving and troubleshooting processes to develop corrective actions to repair and maintain all electrical, mechanical, and facility-related functions, equipment, systems, buildings, and/or physical structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct effective problem-solving and troubleshooting processes to develop corrective actions to repair and maintain all electrical, mechanical, and facility-related functions, equipment, systems, buildings, and/or physical structures
  • Perform mechanical preventative maintenance according to an established schedule on all equipment
  • Inspect machinery, lubricate, and make adjustments or repairs as needed
  • Effectively troubleshoot all mechanical equipment to identify issues and take necessary corrective actions to repair, replace, or rebuild
  • Maintain an open and candid working relationship with coworkers from all departments and immediate supervisor/manager
  • Perform other job functions as requested to support the effective and efficient operation of the plant
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1+ years of verified experience as an industrial maintenance mechanic
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and drawings
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence legibly
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Experience with machine safety
  • Experience with lockout/tagout
  • Lift truck operations, JLG, etc., and the ability to obtain a license to operate
Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and communicate accurately with coworkers.

Work Environment

This job is in an industrial, manufacturing environment. The job requires working frequently around and with heavy machinery with moving mechanical parts, industrial ovens, and mobile equipment. The environment is not climate controlled and employees must be able to work in environments that may be extremely hot and humid or cold depending upon the operation and the season.
