Job Overview

Balcones Recycling is seeking a highly skilled Industrial Mechanic Supervisor to join our team in Jersey City, NJ. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for leading maintenance systems, overseeing the continuous improvement of processes, and executing long-term strategic plans.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical repair and maintenance, with experience in supervising teams and coordinating work with outside vendors. You will be responsible for ensuring efficient repair schedules, reviewing repair cost estimates, and prioritizing maintenance and repairs of company equipment and parts.

In addition to your technical skills, you will be expected to develop and maintain a strong understanding of safety, health, environment, and community company policies and procedures as they pertain to facility operations and equipment usage and operation.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead maintenance systems and oversee continuous improvement of processes
  • Coordinate work with outside vendors and ensure efficient repair schedules
  • Review repair cost estimates and prioritize maintenance and repairs of company equipment and parts
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of safety, health, environment, and community company policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Technical School Preferred
  • Previous supervisory skills in a diverse, fast-paced manufacturing/production environment
  • Excellent mechanical ability and strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to follow procedures and work from a set of written instructions
  • Basic computer skills
  • Must speak and understand English; Spanish speaking is a plus
  • One year minimum mechanical repair related experience in a heavy industrial setting or equivalent combination of education and experience

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
