Dedicated Transport Specialist for Senior Care

At InnovAge, our Transport Specialists play a crucial role in providing safe and reliable transportation for our elderly participants. This position involves transporting seniors from their residences to our Day Centers and medical appointments, as well as facilitating field trips as part of our engaging activities program. Additionally, you will be responsible for delivering in-home meals and managing the pick-up and drop-off of essential supplies and medications for our participants.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate InnovAge vehicles with a focus on safety and responsibility, employing defensive driving techniques and adhering to established policies and routes. Assist participants in boarding and alighting from vehicles, ensuring their comfort and safety during the process. Provide transportation to all pre-scheduled appointments as coordinated by the dispatch team. Deliver meals, supplies, and medications to participants, ensuring accuracy in distribution. Support participants in their homes with simple tasks when necessary, such as assisting with outerwear and clearing pathways. Maintain communication with Dispatch regarding all events and updates related to assigned routes. Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the assigned vehicle, coordinating maintenance schedules with the Transportation Manager. Collaborate with fellow Transport Specialists to assist with the loading and unloading of participants at the center. Engage with the interdisciplinary team to contribute to the development of individualized care plans for InnovAge PACE program participants. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Required Qualifications:

Valid Class C Driver's License issued by the state, with prior experience in DOT regulations and defensive driving. Minimum of one year experience working with elderly or frail individuals. High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience in relevant duties may be accepted. Must be at least 21 years old with a clean driving record. Six months of experience in transporting individuals with special mobility needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with equipment maintenance and operation. Experience in transporting elderly individuals. Six months of experience with individuals requiring special mobility assistance.
