Position: Insulation Technician

Reports to: Insulation Foreman

The Insulation Technician is responsible for the application of insulation materials to various mechanical systems, including pipes and ductwork, to ensure optimal temperature control and energy efficiency.

• Comply with all safety regulations, including OSHA standards and company-specific safety protocols.
• Engage in safety assessments with the scaffolding team to identify potential hazards.
• Measure and cut insulation materials accurately using appropriate tools.
• Shape and fit insulation around obstacles as necessary.
• Assess insulation requirements based on location, surface characteristics, and equipment specifications.
• Install protective sheet metal around insulated pipes to safeguard against environmental factors.
• Apply, remove, and repair insulation on various industrial systems to control noise and maintain temperature.
• Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve project goals.
• Maintain clear communication with supervisors and colleagues.
• Ensure a clean and organized work environment by removing debris and excess materials.
• Perform additional tasks as directed by supervisory personnel.

The work environment may include:

• Proximity to moving mechanical equipment
• Working at heights
• Exposure to varying weather conditions
• Handling of different chemicals
• High noise levels

To successfully perform the essential functions of this role, the following physical demands are required:

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Capability to use hands and arms for various tasks
• Physical agility to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Regular lifting and moving of items weighing up to 50 pounds
• Specific vision abilities including close, distance, and peripheral vision

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to pass drug testing
• Acceptable background check
• Completion of company and site safety training
• Minimum of two years of insulation experience in an industrial setting
• Willingness to work overtime as needed
