As a Bariatric Accredited Center for elective Bariatric surgery, we offer specialized post-operative care that leads to outstanding recovery outcomes.

Our nursing team collaborates with patients to educate and facilitate recovery post-surgery through the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery Pathway.

Our surgeons are at the forefront of innovative procedures, providing an exciting opportunity for RNs seeking to enhance their skills and gain valuable experience.

This position is eligible for our $5,000 Nursing Support Incentive Program.

Summary:
Responsible for delivering routine direct and indirect patient care in a hospital, clinic, or home health care environment. All duties are performed under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or physician.

Key Responsibilities:
1.

Assist healthcare providers with routine examinations and procedures, including the procurement of equipment and supplies during emergencies.

2.

In psychiatric settings, support patients in reality orientation, engage in behavior modification plans, provide informal support therapy to patients and families, de-escalate potentially aggressive situations, assist in the physical management of aggressive patients, facilitate age-appropriate activities for children, and monitor therapeutic milieu activities to ensure emotional and safety needs are met.

3.

Observe, collect, and document patient information while providing care, promptly reporting significant changes in the patient's condition to a registered nurse or physician.

4.

Assist patients and their families during the admission process, orient them to the clinical environment, and support discharge procedures.

5.

Deliver care and treatments to patients as outlined in the care plan, including vital signs measurement, specimen collection, skin preps, catheter care, blood glucose checks, simple wound care, range of motion exercises, postural drainage, and supportive interactions with patients and families.

6.

Provide direct personal care to patients for daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and assisting with mobility.

7.

Perform indirect care tasks, including cleaning work areas, changing linens, restocking supplies, sterilizing instruments, transporting patients and specimens, assisting in the orientation of new employees and students, and some routine clerical functions.

8. Reinforce routine education provided to patients by the registered nurse or physician and document patient understanding of instructions. Distribute educational materials at the request of patients and/or healthcare providers.

Education Requirements:

  • High School diploma or General Education Development (GED)

Licensure/Certification Requirements:

  • Listed as Nursing Assistant I with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Professional Experience Requirements:

  • Prefer six (6) months of nursing assistant experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Requirements:

  • Proficient in verbal and written English and capable of developing basic computer skills
