Marketing Event Specialist Job Description

The Marketing Event Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the development and execution of a strategic plan that drives the organization's goals forward.

This position focuses on generating awareness about the Florida market healthcare delivery system, specifically the network of providers (employed and contracted). The Marketing Event Specialist is also responsible for providing assistance with special projects and educational efforts as directed by management.

This role is accountable for Market membership goals for both growth and retention.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Execute an action plan for territory activities and community outreach to support market growth and retention.
  2. Engage with prospects and current patients at events, identifying opportunities within the Medicare eligible population.
  3. Maintain and update event/activity documentation, as well as calendar updates.
  4. Maintain professional relationships with community contacts/agencies, healthcare delivery system administration, physicians, and other staff, as well as local contracted health plan staff/brokers & agents.
  5. Develop and maintain professional partnerships with Community Senior Centers of Influence.
  6. Conduct group presentations at various events or community/professional meetings to generate leads and raise awareness of the Florida market healthcare delivery system.
  7. Complete all necessary reports and deliverables as requested by leadership according to established deadlines.
  8. Effectively create databases and manage assigned budgets with productive ROI results.
  9. Collaborate with outside vendors as needed to fulfill program initiatives.
  10. Coordinate with corporate marketing on marketing collateral needed for special events, advertisement initiatives, and other requests submitted by senior leadership.
  11. Some nights and weekends may be required to support outreach activities and special events.
  12. All other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
  • Three to five years of marketing project management, communications, and/or marketing campaign development, and event planning experience.
  • Experience with CMS guidelines and/or experience in a healthcare-related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, and internet research required.
  • Must have a current, valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as determined by business need.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Five or more years of project management, communications, and/or marketing campaign development, and event planning experience preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency preferred.
Physical & Mental Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to push or pull heavy objects using up to 25 pounds of force.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use fine motor skills to operate office equipment and/or machinery.
  • Ability to properly drive and operate a company vehicle.
  • Ability to receive and comprehend instructions verbally and/or in writing.
  • Ability to use logical reasoning for simple and complex problem-solving.
