Key Responsibilities- Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to physicians, including taking patient vitals, performing phlebotomy, and facilitating patient flow throughout the office visit.
- Front Desk Operations: Provide coverage for front desk check-in and check-out functions, including registering patients, verifying insurance eligibility, and obtaining necessary pre-authorization numbers.
- Clinical Support: Assist with minor surgical procedures, prepare injection materials, and maintain medical-supply inventories.
- Communication: Communicate with patients regarding ancillary testing appointments, verify patient insurance eligibility, and facilitate the collection of any fees due from patients.
- Training and Development: Assist with the training of new staff members in the practice's operations and systems.
- Education: High School Diploma
- Experience: Prior experience in a patient-facing clinical setting and knowledge of medical terminology.
- Skills: Previous experience using computerized appointment scheduling systems (EPIC preferred) and/or electronic Medical Record (eMR) system (ideally EPIC-Care).
- Certifications: Completion of a medical assistant training course that includes phlebotomy training is highly desired.
Standard office work; may require from time to time to lift light to moderate amounts of weight (e.g., boxes of medical/facility supplies).
