Key Responsibilities:

  • Tax Compliance: Guarantee timely and precise submissions for sales, personal, and real estate property taxes across designated jurisdictions, while maintaining comprehensive tax documentation.
  • Licensing Management: Actively secure and manage business licenses within relevant municipalities.
  • Form 990 Liaison: Serve as the main contact for financial data between internal finance teams and external auditors regarding Form 990 and other tax reports.
  • Asset Management: Collaborate with the Fixed Asset Accountant and Engineering teams to ensure accurate fixed asset reporting, addressing any discrepancies that arise.
  • Documentation Review: Analyze lease and acquisition agreements, coordinating with Legal and Leasing departments for accurate reporting, while verifying site locations and tax jurisdictions.
  • Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve tax-related issues, effectively communicating findings to the Senior Tax Manager and Finance Team.
  • Tax Savings Initiatives: Pursue available exemptions and challenge excessive valuation notices when justified by potential tax savings.
  • Billing Oversight: Address billing discrepancies with relevant authorities and ensure timely settlement of all invoices.
  • Software Utilization: Employ PTMS property tax software for return preparation and explore additional functionalities to improve efficiency.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Create and assess reports concerning taxable properties, assessed values, exemptions, and tax obligations, utilizing PTMS forecasting tools for strategic planning.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and implement strategies to enhance tax return filing processes, collaborating with the Senior Tax Manager for review.
  • Insurance Coordination: Compile lists for annual insurance renewals, detailing tower sites, replacement costs, and real property assets.
  • Property Monitoring: Oversee owned land and studio sites for property tax obligations, ensuring timely receipt and payment of bills.
  • Strategic Insights: Provide valuable insights into current property valuations and assist with tax filings and research as needed.
  • Training and Development: Offer guidance and training for temporary staff assisting with tax-related tasks.
  • Awareness of Changes: Remain updated on new company initiatives that may affect tax filings and communicate relevant information to the Senior Tax Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or finance, or equivalent experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience with for-profit/non-profit organizations, managing complex tax matters in multi-state contexts.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Federal, State, and Local tax regulations.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with experience in applying financial models to strategic initiatives.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), MapInfo, Google Earth Pro, RadioSoft, and analytical tools.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative abilities.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work independently, achieve performance objectives, and adapt to changing circumstances while maintaining high productivity.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to cultivate genuine business relationships and uphold confidentiality.
