Job Summary

As a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor at the University of California, San Francisco, you will oversee the technical operations of the laboratory, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures and quality assurance standards. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills, as well as the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to staff and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise laboratory staff and ensure compliance with laboratory policies and procedures
  • Oversee the implementation of quality assurance programs and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements
  • Develop and maintain laboratory procedures and protocols
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to resolve technical issues and improve laboratory operations
  • Communicate with stakeholders, including staff, management, and external partners
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience
  • Two years of recent experience in a clinical laboratory setting
  • Knowledge of laboratory concepts, new methodologies, and advances in the field of specimen processing, automation, and procedures
  • Ability to apply principles in a clinical laboratory setting
  • Knowledge of Clinical Laboratory, medical center, HR, and UC policies and processes
Preferred Qualifications
  • Five years of recent experience in a clinical laboratory setting
  • Recent CLS supervisory experience
  • Licensure in a specialty area
