Job Summary

Kern Medical is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervising Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for supervising the operation of a major section of the Clinical Laboratory, administering educational programs, and coordinating quality assurance programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise the performance of various microbiological, serological, chemical, and hemotological analyses
  • Perform complex or specialized tests and procedures, and coordinate quality control programs
  • Provide training and supervision of staff and medical technology students
  • Makes recommendations regarding hiring, promotion, disciplinary actions, and terminations
  • Evaluate performance of assigned staff and assist in the organization and planning of work assignments
Requirements
  • Three years of experience as a licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist or specially licensed technologist in a hospital or public health laboratory
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in a laboratory science is desirable
  • Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) is desirable
  • Possession of a valid license to practice as a Medical Technologist in the State of California
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters degree in a Laboratory Science
  • Valid and current license as a Medical Technologist in the State of California
