Job Summary

Intermountain Healthcare is seeking a skilled Computed Tomography Technologist to join our team. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of CT procedures using ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure proper patient identification, order verification, and prepare patients for exams.
  • Perform exams per department protocol and understand cross-sectional anatomy.
  • Understand and follow proper radiation safety protocol and demonstrate ability to critique own films.
  • Complete studies within acceptable time limitations and demonstrate knowledge and understanding of protocol relating to contrast administration.
  • Administer oral barium products or intravenous contrast material to patients as ordered by physicians and under radiologist or physician supervision.
  • Practice appropriate infection control and sterile techniques, provide patient education, and ensure patient comfort.
  • Operate CT equipment and related information systems to ensure quality images are produced.
  • Exhibit working knowledge of contrast injectors and laser printers, and understand and operate electronic imaging systems.
  • Thoroughly and accurately complete all required documentation, including time stamps and image storage.
  • Follow appropriate protocol for medical necessity, coding, and charging, and document any events that may occur for quality.
Requirements
  • Radiography Certification/Registration (ARRT)
  • Relevant State licensure (where required)
  • Demonstrated CT proficiency
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (healthcare)
Post-Hire Expectations
  • Meet departmental IV certification competency within three months of hire
  • Complete the controlled substance module within six months of hire (where applicable)
  • Complete the initial moderate sedation module within six months of hire (where applicable)
