As a Prime Brokerage Operations Specialist, you will play a crucial role in facilitating the prime brokerage operations by overseeing trade execution, reconciliation processes, and client relationship management. This position is essential in ensuring that all transactions are processed with precision and in compliance with industry regulations and internal standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Trade Execution and Settlement:
Manage the prompt and precise capture, allocation, and settlement of trades across various asset classes, including equities, fixed income, and derivatives.
Monitor trade activities and swiftly address any discrepancies or issues that arise.
Collaborate with front office teams, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless trade execution and settlement processes.
2. Reconciliation and Reporting:
Conduct daily reconciliations of trades, positions, and cash balances between internal systems and external entities.
Investigate and resolve any discrepancies identified during the reconciliation process.
Prepare and disseminate various reports, including trade confirmations, settlement statuses, and client account statements.
3. Client Relationship Management:
Act as the primary liaison for clients regarding inquiries related to trades, settlements, and account management.
Deliver exceptional service by promptly addressing client questions and concerns.
Assist clients with onboarding procedures and ensure their operational requirements are fulfilled.
4. Risk Management and Compliance:
Oversee and manage operational risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal controls.
Report any potential risk issues or compliance breaches to the appropriate teams and assist in their resolution.
Stay informed about regulatory changes and industry best practices.
5. Process Enhancement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements to boost operational efficiency and accuracy.
Work in conjunction with technology teams to develop and test system upgrades and new functionalities.
Engage in projects aimed at enhancing middle office operations and client service delivery.
6. Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate closely with front office, back office, IT, compliance, and other internal teams to ensure cohesive operations.
Effectively communicate with clients, counterparties, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and provide timely updates.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related discipline.
2-4 years of experience in middle office operations, trade support, or related fields within a prime brokerage or investment banking context.
A solid understanding of financial instruments, including equities, fixed income, and derivatives.
Proficiency in trade processing systems and reconciliation tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with clients and internal teams.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in project management and process improvement methodologies.
Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and industry standards pertinent to prime brokerage operations.
Familiarity with programming languages and data visualization tools is advantageous.
