We are seeking a highly skilled Communications Center Specialist to join our team at Novant Health. As a key member of our Public Safety program, you will be responsible for providing critical support to our security operations center, dispatching protective services, and monitoring radio traffic.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and team members, responding to routine reports, referral information, and emergency calls for assistance.
- Work collaboratively with our Public Safety team to ensure a safe and secure environment for our patients, families, and communities.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of our Public Safety protocols, policies, and programs, including DPS and security operations.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in public safety and security communications.
- High School Diploma or GED, required. Some college courses preferred.
- Satisfactory experience as a Communications Technician, Emergency Telecommunications Specialist, Dispatcher, or related field.
- Licensure/Certification: Crisis Prevention Institute Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, Crisis Communications, or CIT within 1 year of hire; APCO Public Safety Tele-communicator I and RQI Responder certified within 6 months of hire, required.
- Additional Skills: DPS, Security, law enforcement or military communications experience.
