Job Overview

At Koorsen Fire & Security Inc., we are committed to excellence in the fire and security sector. We are currently in search of a skilled Fire Systems Inspector to enhance our team in the Columbus, Ohio area. This role is essential in maintaining our high standards and ensuring the safety of our clients.

Compensation: $25-30/hour, based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough inspections and testing of Fire Alarm and Sprinkler systems to verify their operational integrity.
  • Document any identified deficiencies and ensure corrective actions are communicated to clients.
  • Educate customers on the functionality and features of their fire safety systems.
  • Maintain professional interactions with clients, vendors, and colleagues.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and practices.
  • Exhibit a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Comply with all company policies and core values.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:

Required:

  • Possession of an Ohio State Fire Alarm License.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Experience with electronic testing equipment.
  • Successful completion of drug and background screenings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet state licensing requirements.

Preferred:

  • Experience in Fire Life Safety, Low Voltage, and Security systems.
  • Certifications from Fire Alarm Manufacturers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Basic understanding of IT systems.
  • NICET certification.
Physical Requirements:
  • Capability to safely operate general hand and power tools.
  • Ability to lift and carry weights of at least 75 lbs and handle heavier loads.
  • Willingness to climb ladders and work at heights exceeding 40 feet.
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions and noise levels.
  • Regularly required to communicate effectively and perform physical tasks.
Hiring Process:

New hires will be required to complete the I-9 Verification form within three days of employment. This is a standard procedure to verify identity and work eligibility in the United States. Additionally, background checks and substance abuse testing will be conducted as part of the hiring process.
