Key ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will oversee a specific functional area (Inbound/Outbound) within one of our Fulfillment Centers, managing the operational performance of your team to achieve business objectives. Your team will consist of several Sr. Area Managers and Area Managers who directly supervise 5-50 associates.
You will be tasked with developing annual operational plans with a budget in the billions of yen, ensuring effective execution throughout the year.

Daily ResponsibilitiesAs an Operations Manager, you will:
- Lead Fulfillment Center operations, the core of Amazon's logistics business, and contribute innovative ideas to enhance customer service.
- Ensure operational performance in terms of safety, quality, and cost efficiency.
- Develop annual operational plans while managing costs through daily and weekly forecasts, responding to demand fluctuations, and collaborating with stakeholders, including third-party logistics.
- Drive staffing planning, quality initiatives, process improvements, and other Change/Six Sigma initiatives to help your functional area and the Fulfillment Center meet and exceed business goals.
- Support, mentor, and motivate your salaried and hourly workforce to foster productivity, high performance, diversity, and inclusivity.
- Lead with empathy, create a fun work environment, and commit to the personal success of your team members.
- Collaborate closely with other functions to achieve business goals, securing necessary resources for cross-functional projects and initiatives.
- Report potential issues impacting multiple functional areas along with proposed solutions to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
- Lead large-scale projects such as DEI and sustainability initiatives within a site or region, as well as significant events like Family Day and volunteering activities.
- Proactively share best practices across all departments and shifts within the network.

QualificationsMinimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or 3+ years of relevant work experience.

- Experience in managing multiple tasks and KPIs.
- Demonstrated experience in people management.
- Business-level verbal and written communication skills in English or Japanese.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven experience in the manufacturing or logistics industry.
- Background in operations processes or general management.
- Ability to think strategically and influence across all organizational levels.
- Experience or knowledge in Six Sigma, lean methodologies, QC circles, or other analytical skills to identify and resolve complex problems.
- MBA or Master's degree in Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field.
This position will be based in a Fulfillment Center in Japan, with the base location negotiable upon request.
