Job Title: Piano Accompanist

Join The Salvation Army USA Central Territory as a Piano Accompanist and contribute to the development of music programs for children and adults.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Piano Accompanist to provide high-quality accompaniment for choir programs, including weekly rehearsals, recitals, and concerts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music theory and performance, as well as excellent leadership and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide piano accompaniment for choir programs, including weekly rehearsals, recitals, and concerts.
  • Work with corps leadership to plan and attend all recitals and prepare corps music programs for participation in the annual concert.
  • Encourage participants to develop their musical abilities and discover new skills and talents.
  • Assist in ensuring music performances and activities align with the purpose of The Salvation Army in the community.
  • Support the planning and participation of campers in summer music camps, including the divisional music camp and summer music day camps.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in music or extensive experience teaching music.
  • Minimum of two years' music experience working with children and adults.
  • Performance experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in music theory and a primary instrument.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work as a team player and follow through with assignments.
Working Conditions:

This position requires light physical work and frequent use of standard office equipment and a PC. Occasional travel may be required. Driving is required, and a valid driver's license is necessary.
