Job Title: Piano Accompanist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Piano Accompanist to join our team at The Salvation Army USA Central Territory. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality piano accompaniment for our choir programs, including weekly rehearsals, recitals, and concerts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide piano accompaniment for choir programs, including weekly rehearsals, recitals, and concerts.
  • Work with corps leadership to plan and attend all recitals and prepare corps music programs for participation in the concert at the end of each school year.
  • Encourage participants to develop their musical abilities and discover new skills and talents.
  • Assist in ensuring music performances and activities align with the purpose of The Salvation Army in the community.
  • Support the planning and participation of campers in summer music programs, including the divisional music camp and summer music day camps.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in music or extensive experience teaching music.
  • Minimum of two years' music experience working with children and adults.
  • Performance experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in music theory and a primary instrument.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work as a team player, self-starter, and follow through with assignments until completion.
  • Positive attitude and flexibility in light of changing job situations and priorities.
  • Strong commitment to support and promote the mission of The Salvation Army.
Working Conditions:

This position requires light physical work periodically and frequent use of standard office equipment and a PC. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions of this job.

Occasional travel may be required, and driving is necessary with a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside. You must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.

The work environment for this position includes a program environment with moderate to high noise levels.
