Job Summary

The Associate Counsel/Counsel, Business & Legal Affairs will serve as a legal point of contact for NBCUniversal's television entertainment networks (NBC, USA, Bravo, Syfy, E, Oxygen, and Universal Kids) and our dynamic streaming service Peacock. You will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and interpreting licensing agreements and other legal documents, as well as providing timely and thorough legal advice on potential risks and issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and interpret licensing agreements and other legal documents
  • Provide legal advice on potential risks and issues, and propose practical solutions
  • Partner with NBCUniversal business executives and colleagues to discuss and implement best practices and formulate new processes
  • Identify and implement improvements to forms and processes
  • Other matters as needed at the direction of the division's General Counsel and its Senior Vice President
Requirements
  • Member of New York, California, or other U.S. state bar
  • JD or LLM degree from an accredited law school
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience for Associate Counsel, or 4+ years of experience for Counsel, in a law firm and/or in-house legal department of entertainment, media/technology, intellectual property, or other relevant industry
Preferred Qualifications
  • Outstanding analytical, communication, and organizational skills
  • Collaborative, team-oriented approach
  • Comfortable making legal decisions and advising on business risks
  • Sound business judgment and flexibility to manage multiple, wide-ranging matters
  • Ability to explain complex legal concepts to business and creative executives
What We Offer

NBCUniversal offers a competitive salary range of $100,000 - $130,000 for Associate Counsel and $140,000 - $170,000 for Counsel, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and other discounts and perks.

This position is eligible for company-sponsored benefits and is a hybrid role, requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office.
