Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Program Aide and Van Driver to join our team at United Community & Family Services. As a key member of our adult day center team, you will provide transportation services for clients and assist with program activities and outings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate program activities that promote socialization, cognitive stimulation, and physical exercise for adult day center clients.
  • Provide van transportation for clients, ensuring their safety at all times and assisting with boarding and exiting the van.
  • Assist with personal care needs of clients, including transfer, toileting, clothing changes, and showering.
  • Monitor participant behavior and report any changes to the RN Supervisor.
  • Provide nutritional support to clients, including escorting, monitoring, and feeding clients at mealtime and providing snacks.
  • Communicate effectively with participants, families, and team members.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A valid driver's license and eligibility for a Public Service License to operate the van.
  • Home Health Aide or Certified Nursing Aide (HHA/CNA) certification, plus up to one year of experience working with elderly individuals.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Demonstrated patience, empathy, and compassion.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others in a team environment.
  • Good physical condition to perform duties such as assisting clients in and out of the van.
