Our team is responsible for making decisions on risks and performing related activities consistent with established company goals and objectives. This includes initiating and managing relationships with producers who fit Tokio Marine guidelines, achieving plan loss ratios, and evaluating reviews and making corrective actions on existing accounts.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Risk Management Specialist. The ideal candidate will have 15 years of ocean or inland marine underwriting experience and be able to maintain high performance levels when handling multiple concurrent activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Makes decisions on risks and performs related activities consistent with established company goals and objectives.
  • Initiates and manages relationships with producers who fit Tokio Marine guidelines.
  • Achieves plan loss ratios by determining acceptability of risk based on underwriting guidelines and sound judgment.
  • Evaluates reviews and makes corrective actions on existing accounts, including midterm reviews as necessary.
  • Makes recommendations on risks which exceed their letter of authority using established referral procedures.
  • Gathers/evaluates information to determine acceptability of new accounts.
  • Issues policies and endorsements.
  • Orders Loss Control surveys.
  • Promotes activities between the Marine Department, AEOs and producers to maximize renewals and new opportunities.
  • Assists Corporate Reinsurance, Accounting and Claims on problems as they arise.
  • Assists in the training of other staff members.
  • Reviews previously performed work for quality, as necessary.
  • Assists Accounting in the timely collection of overdue premiums, keeping 90 day overdue premiums at a minimum.
  • Assists junior members of staff in the timely collection of overdue premium reports.

Requirements:

  • 15 years of ocean or inland marine underwriting experience.
  • Ability to maintain high performance levels when handling multiple concurrent activities.
  • Familiarity with basic personal computer usage.
