Your responsibilities:

As a Senior Metrology Specialist, your focus will be on New Product Development. You will be an integral part of the Advanced Operations (AO) Team, overseeing inspection-related tasks, which include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Consulting with AO and R&D on the enhancement of new product specifications finalized to Design for Inspection (DFI) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
  • Conducting and supporting engineering and metrology research, including the identification, exploration, and implementation of cutting-edge metrology and inspection systems and technologies.
  • Generating CAD drawings and applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
  • Taking charge of identifying, developing, implementing, and validating all necessary inspection and testing processes as part of New Product Development.
  • Collaborating with Tier 1 and Contract Manufacturers to refine their inspection methodologies, including correlation activities.
  • Mentoring and advising all engineering teams on the analysis of inspection data, gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility (R&R) results, and inspection techniques to establish optimal process parameters.
  • Providing technical guidance for the AO team on inspection methodologies, measurement, and testing equipment and technologies.
  • Applying established principles to known scenarios and assessing unexpected or contradictory outcomes.
  • Serving as the technical and strategic reference point and expert for AO in Metrology Support.
  • Coordinating with Stryker sites on sourcing, procurement, implementation, and management of New Product Introduction (NPI) measurement systems.
  • Creating, mentoring, and advising in the following areas:
    • Integrated vision systems (Cognex, etc.)
    • Optical inspection systems (Keyence, Mitutoyo, etc.)
    • Standard inspection tools and gauges.
    • Inspection and calibration of internal and vendor custom gauging.
    • First Article Inspection (FAI) of products.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience utilizing metrology fundamentals in a manufacturing context.
Preferred Qualifications (Highly desired):
  • Experience in medical device, automotive, pharmaceutical, or food industry manufacturing.
  • Proven ability to identify and challenge non-value-added inspection processes.
  • Capable of spending extended periods programming, debugging, and validating complex inspection equipment.
  • AUKOM 1, 2, 3 Certification.
  • Green or Black Belt Qualification.
