Job Summary

This is a responsible professional nursing position involved in the planning, organizing, supervising, assisting and providing of nursing care to the developmentally disabled population. As a Senior Registered Nurse Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of nursing care on evening shifts, directing nursing personnel, and ensuring compliance with established standards.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise nursing staff on evening shifts, including coordinating workloads, workflows, deadlines, work objectives, and time utilization.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities, including infection control, monitoring equipment and supply usage, and investigating accidents and incidents.
  • Assist in direct care of residents, including attending emergencies, administering medications, and recording treatment plans.
  • Communicate effectively with other disciplines and SRNSs to determine needs of residents and report to the Executive Nursing Director.
  • Develop and present nursing in-service training to direct care staff and other nursing staff.

Requirements

  • Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in accordance with Florida Statute 464 or eligible to practice nursing in accordance with Florida Administrative Code 210-8.27.
  • At least one year of supervisory experience over employees.
  • Knowledge of preventive health care, nursing principles, practices, and techniques in specialized areas, human anatomy, physiology, community resources, and adult learning principles.
  • Ability to teach professional nurses, assess and prioritize service and personnel needs, communicate effectively, and coordinate and evaluate specialized or educational nursing programs.
