Job Title: Credit Specialist

At Southeast LBM Holdco LLC, we are seeking a highly skilled Credit Specialist to join our team. As a Credit Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely collection of past-due accounts and maintaining accurate credit information.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Account Monitoring: Continuously monitor existing customer accounts for creditworthiness, analyzing past performance and current information to identify potential credit issues.
  • Cash Posting: Post all incoming cash transactions, including wires, deposits, credit card payments, and checks, making necessary adjustments and keeping accounts in accurate order.
  • Collection and Resolution: Collect past-due accounts through mailings, phone calls, faxes, internet, and collection agencies or legal counsel when necessary, resolving issues in a timely manner to minimize disruptions.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports to the Credit Manager on the condition of aged accounts receivable, projecting estimated collections and identifying potential bad debts.
  • Credit Limit Adjustments: Assess customer accounts to determine if and when credit limits may be raised, ensuring creditworthiness and minimizing risk.
  • Accounts Receivable Schedules: Complete detailed accounts receivable schedules on a monthly basis and for the year-end audit, working closely with the finance team and auditors to verify and explain accounts.
  • Bankruptcy and Funding Write-Offs: Follow up on bankruptcy notices and balance and complete monthly and annual reports of funding write-offs to ensure trial balance numbers are accurate.
Requirements:
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience, with a minimum of 2+ years of credit experience.
  • Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong analytical skills, strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, exceptional organizational skills, and ability to think strategically.
  • Certifications and Knowledge: Knowledge of all appropriate credit laws and familiarity with credit best practices.
