Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Reser's Fine Foods. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and document food safety and quality issues, and participate in the determination of corrective actions.
  • Assist with pre-operational inspections of production plants and equipment, and complete related documentation.
  • Perform process verification checks at critical food safety and quality points, according to the facility's Food Safety Plan and Quality Plan.
  • Participate in the determination of corrective actions when verification checks do not meet the limits defined in the facility's Food Safety Plan and Quality Plan.
  • Verify the facility's environment, including temperature, sanitizer concentrations, and other food safety-related conditions.
  • Complete Hold Tags and Cooling Tags, if appropriate, to isolate non-conforming ingredients or products.
  • Conduct and document the daily product review, and participate in the evaluation of key sensory attributes of finished products.
  • Maintain records, complete documentation, and follow proper documentation protocols as assigned.
  • Adhere to and monitor programs, including HACCP, good manufacturing practices, foreign material control, plant sanitation, product quality assurance, and other programs as assigned.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in a science-related field or 1+ years of experience in a Quality Assurance position or equivalent experience.
  • Basic knowledge of GMPs, Food Safety, and Safety requirements.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English at a level of proficiency to clearly understand food safety documentation, ingredient labels, etc.
  • Basic computer skills, including email, Word, and Excel.
Working Conditions

The Quality Assurance Specialist will work in a food processing, warehouse, and food laboratory environment. The environment may be wet or dry, and temperatures may range from 25°F to 110°F. Regularly required to stand and walk, ability to climb ladders, bend, reach, and occasionally lift up to 40 lbs. Production demands may require overtime and/or evening or weekend scheduling.
