Manufacturing Automation Integration Specialist

Real World Responsibilities:
During your time with us, you will:
- Research and recommend automated solutions for pick and place material handling applications.
- Create CAD models detailing material packaging and fit.
- Design end effectors and other part holding devices.
- Participate in the installation and sequencing of machines, workstations, tools, and supplies to optimize the efficiency of the manufacturing process.
- Work within an industrial team to assemble, test, and program automated devices or robots.
- Work to integrate industrial robots or similar machines into a manufacturing operation.
- Investigate and recommend vision systems to assist in the pick and place operation.
- Prepare documentation for training and operation, and maintenance manuals for developed equipment.
- Study manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, assembly, and weld processes.
- Gather and analyze process information including cycle times, measurements, test results, trends, etc., used for statistical process control, cost analysis, and planning.
Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.
Requirements:
We're looking for students who:
- Are currently pursuing an ABET-accredited bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Technology Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or a similar field.
- Have a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and systems.
- Are able to work full-time (40 hours/week) for 3-6 months in Redmond, WA.
- Are comfortable working in a high-speed production environment.
- Have basic knowledge of office programs (Excel, Project, Word, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
We're looking for students who:
- Are adaptable, innovative, and proactive.
- Have working knowledge of Solidworks, Autocad, or equivalent CAD programs.
- Have working knowledge of motion control devices.
- Have basic project planning experience and the ability to convert designs into project action plans.
