About the Role

The Hartford is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Assistant to provide full litigation support to attorneys in our insurance defense team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing and filing documents, conducting research, and providing administrative support to our attorneys.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and file documents, including correspondence, briefs, motions, and pleadings, in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Conduct research and provide information to attorneys as needed.
  • Provide administrative support to attorneys, including scheduling, calendar management, and document preparation.
  • Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including organizing documents and preparing exhibits.
  • Review and maintain electronic legal files.
  • Assist with interactions with clients, opposing counsel, and court employees in a professional manner.
  • Perform other administrative tasks as needed to support the office.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Senior Legal Assistant in an insurance defense law office or corporate department.
  • Experience with case management software and strong working knowledge of California Court systems.
  • Strong multi-tasking, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, OneNote, Teams, & PowerPoint).
  • Ability to meet productivity targets in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
