About the Role

The Medical Health Specialist functions as an advanced practice practitioner at Houston Methodist, providing care to patients requiring medical attention. This role involves practicing medicine under the supervision of a licensed physician and provides diagnostic, therapeutic, surgical, and preventative care.

Responsibilities include examining patients, diagnosing conditions, and deciding treatment plans, including analyzing x-rays and lab results, writing prescriptions, and providing surgical assistance. The specialist may work in both inpatient and outpatient settings and can perform independently under the license of a physician or as part of a treatment team.

Salary Range

$120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
