Account Specialist II

This position plays a crucial role in expediting positive cash flow, maximizing reimbursement, and reducing/eliminating financial loss to department customers by efficiently managing patient accounts, billing, and collections.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Submit charge information into the appropriate system and post payments in a timely manner.
- Follow up on patient account balances, including insurance and patient financial balances, to ensure accurate and timely resolution.
- Process a specified number of accounts daily based on customer specialty and unique billing requirements.
- Communicate with payers regarding payment and resolve incorrect payment issues to ensure accurate balances.
- Reconcile monthly reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Demonstrate exceptional customer service to internal and external customers, providing a positive experience and resolving issues promptly.
- High School Degree or equivalent.
- Specialized knowledge in Medicaid/Medicare billing and other payer sources.
- 3-4 years of experience in a related field.
This role requires occasional kneeling, lifting under 50 pounds, pushing, and reaching. The majority of the time is spent sitting and talking on the phone or with customers.
