Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist to join our team at NYU Langone Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for performing pulmonary function testing, including lung volumes, spirometries, and diffusion capacity. You will also be responsible for performing daily quality assurance on equipment to ensure the quality and validity of tests performed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform pulmonary function testing, including lung volumes, spirometries, and diffusion capacity.
- Perform daily quality assurance on equipment to ensure the quality and validity of tests performed.
- Check and validate physician orders for testing procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain testing equipment and generate appropriate paperwork for test interpretation.
- Perform cardiopulmonary exercise testing.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree or equivalent in respiratory care as recognized by the New York State Board for Respiratory Therapy.
- New York State Registered Respiratory Therapist license or Respiratory Therapist Technician license.
- Certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (CRT) with CPFT specialty credential within a year of hire.
- Computer competency, including basic understanding of and ability to work with Microsoft Windows-based pulmonary function software programs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in pulmonary function testing.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
