Position Overview


We are seeking a detail-oriented, collaborative, and organized Senior Accountant to contribute to our dynamic and rapidly growing skincare brand, Naturium.

This role involves managing daily operations of accounts receivable, posting journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and handling audits along with various ad-hoc projects.

The Senior Accountant will leverage their expertise in generally accepted accounting principles to analyze financial data and prepare comprehensive financial reports.

This position operates in a hybrid model, allowing flexibility in work location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in overseeing the monthly and annual financial statement closing processes, reviewing preliminary results for variances and reasonableness.
  • Maintain the general ledger, prepare journal entries, and conduct monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and accrued expenses, ensuring accuracy.
  • Develop a new operating expense and sales allowances accrual process in collaboration with the FP&A Analyst and business leaders on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare monthly schedules and work papers for various balance sheet and income statement accounts, ensuring documentation is precise and well-organized.
  • Collaborate with vendors and operations teams to resolve open vendor deposits and accrued purchases related to inventory acquisitions.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining corporate accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with US GAAP and SOX regulations.
  • Initiate and streamline processes for efficiency to support the future growth of the enterprise.
  • Contribute to external audits, which may involve submitting requests and coordinating efforts to meet audit timelines while addressing issues as they arise.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

  • B.S./B.A. in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Consumer Products or Retail, with public accounting experience required.
  • CPA certification is preferred, along with 3+ years of audit experience from a global or national CPA firm.
  • Experience in a consumer products company or retailer dealing with trade spending is advantageous.
  • Inventory management experience is a plus.
  • Thorough knowledge and application of US GAAP.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong project management capabilities.
  • Direct experience with Accounting ERP systems (NetSuite or SAP).
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment while maintaining focus, organization, and time management skills.
