Job Title: Senior Applications Programmer

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Applications Programmer to join our team at the University of Texas at Arlington. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting applications for our enterprise's Internet and intranet sites.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Develops, maintains, and supports applications for the enterprise's Internet and intranet sites.
  • Gathers and analyzes requirements to ensure that applications meet the needs of our users.
  • Programs all or selected components of system applications, ensuring that they are efficient, effective, and secure.
  • Documents components and applications, providing clear and concise instructions for maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Develops automation techniques, programs, tests, and implements customer requirements in third-party applications.
  • Handles client browser support inquiries, administers, upgrades, installs patch fixes, and manages development, test, and production environments for applications that provide services across campus.
  • Collaborates with clients and mentors junior developers to effectively document the customer's business processes and requirements and follow the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Completes applications programming by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities, troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms.
  • Create technical specifications and detailed software design documentation based on business requirements.
  • Supports ServiceNow, including License Administration, Assignment Group Administration, break/fix issues within modules, Service Catalog Item Administration, and platform updates and maintenance.
  • Develops and designs ServiceNow applications, including building Service Catalog Items, maintaining/modify Workflows, creating and updating Self-Service Portal, and working with the Accessibility Group on compliance issues.
  • Builds and maintains custom reports and assists the OIT Training Coordinator in technical development of curriculum, including video and web-assisted courses.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Requirements:




  • Bachelor's Degree with coursework in computing or information systems with six (6) years of progressively responsible computer systems management and analysis experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Eight (8+) years work experience in related fields or equivalent education, certifications, and experience.
  • In-depth experience with ASP/ASP.NET, PHP, MySQL, SQL, SharePoint, CMS, VBScript, XML, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XSLT, and UI/UX.
  • Experience in an academic environment, solid organizational and interpersonal skills, multi-task oriented, and experience planning, coordinating, and ensuring adequate computing resources are available for a higher education institution or company.
  • Experience with ServiceNow, including License Administration, Assignment Group Administration, break/fix issues within modules, Service Catalog Item Administration, and platform updates and maintenance.
