Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer - Modeling and Algorithms to join our team at Peraton. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing digital simulation models and algorithms to support our customers' mission-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research and development of software and data processing algorithms used in ASE products
  • Collaborate with vendors to understand algorithm design, implementation, and testability
  • Provide feedback to vendors on algorithm design and implementation
  • Liaise with outside Subject Matter Experts on algorithm performance
  • Develop and execute Digital System Models (DSMs) and other simulations
  • Support validation and verification of performance requirements using DSMs or other modeling tools
  • Work with test teams to validate and understand field data using DSMs and simulations
  • Design, develop, and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design
  • Review vendor algorithm design and deliverables
  • Create, maintain, and review Algorithm Description Documentation (ADD)
  • Create scripts and tools to automate or assist in testing (e.g., modifications to the DSM or other test tools)
  • Understand machine learning (ML) concepts, methodologies, and implementations
Requirements
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience with a BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D.
  • Active Secret clearance
  • Understanding of DSM or simulation creation, execution, and use in system performance modeling
  • Knowledge of ML methodologies and implementation
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team environment while balancing various priority tasks
  • Fluency in the Microsoft Office toolset
  • Understanding and fluency in C, C++, and Python
  • Ability to work from the customer facility on a regular basis
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a DoD acquisition project management office
  • Software or systems design for DoD systems
  • Background in modeling, simulation, algorithm design or test, data science/analysis, or machine learning
