Job Title: Assistant General Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant General Manager to join our team at RAM Hotels. As a key member of our hotel management team, you will be responsible for coordinating the activities of hotel personnel and providing support to the General Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assign duties to staff and observe performance to ensure adherence to hotel policies and established operating procedures
  • Provide training, including safety training, to staff
  • Select or assist in the selection of hotel staff and complete all new hire paperwork
  • Review employee performance and conduct personnel actions such as disciplinary actions and terminations
  • Maintain accurate records, including cash flow sheets, direct bill accounts, credit card receipts, registration cards, reservation cards, direct bills, credit cards, and tax exempt
  • Conduct or assist in conducting staff meetings
  • Adhere to all franchise and company procedures and regulations as well as standard operating procedures
  • Receive and resolve or assist in resolving guest complaints and employee issues
  • Perform functions of the General Manager in their absence
  • Be available 24/7 with reliable transportation
  • Cover shifts in all departments as scheduled by the General Manager
  • Correspond with group and travel agents to answer special requests for rooms and rates
  • Assist with sales and marketing efforts as directed
  • Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel policies and services
  • Assist General Manager in annual wage scale surveys; ensure employee wages follow wage and salary guidelines
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or similar degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Hotel operations experience to include knowledge of all applicable laws, ordinances, regulations, and requirements of federal, state, and municipal authority
  • Presentation/Facilitation Skills (preferred)
  • Excellent customer service skills
Industry Experience:
  • Previous experience in the hospitality industry (preferred)
  • Hotel Management Operations experience (preferred)
  • Knowledge of government relations regarding hotel operations (preferred)
Required Skills:
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be flexible to work varied schedules
  • Ability to delegate and direct the activities of the team to ensure efficient operation
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must have the physical ability to walk, bend, and stand for long time periods
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
