Job Title: Senior Designer

As a Senior Designer at American Eagle Outfitters, you will be responsible for designing and executing the AE Women's Wovens assortment that aligns with the seasonal concept and overall aesthetic of the brand.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify market trends and evaluate their relevance to American Eagle's brand identity.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Design Director to develop key items and big ideas that meet the seasonal brief and business needs.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of raw materials and work with the material team to source seasonal fabrics.
  • Partner with the Senior Design Director to create seasonal presentations and key milestones, and confidently communicate with executive leadership.
  • Oversee the creation of seasonal decks with up-to-date information on details, wash, and color.
  • Supervise the creation of techpacks, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with the production team to schedule handoffs and achieve quality products within budget.
  • Support assistants with daily vendor emails and partner with merchants to ensure design alignment with seasonal needs.
  • Supervise Assistant Designers and Associate Designers to develop their skills and grow to the next level.
  • Manage the design team's workload and prioritize tasks to meet overlapping season deadlines.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Fashion or Art (or equivalent experience and education).
  • 8+ years of experience in apparel design, with Wovens experience a plus.
  • Keen eye for color, trend, detail, and construction.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize based on business objectives.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Excel.
  • Ability to act as a liaison between departments, with excellent communication and analytical skills.
