Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate care for oncological patients, ensuring a comprehensive and patient-centered approach
• Develop and implement individualized care plans, incorporating input from multidisciplinary teams
• Provide education and support to patients and their families, addressing their unique needs and concerns
• Collaborate with oncology directors and medical directors to develop and grow the program
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date program data for analysis and reporting
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and care delivery
Requirements
• Current California RN license
• Minimum 6 months experience working as an RN in an inpatient or outpatient oncology setting, or 1 year clinical experience with recent completion of a cancer basics class from the Oncology Nursing Society
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Demonstrated practice with and knowledge of chemotherapy agents
• Basic Life Support certification
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Preferred Qualifications
• Oncology/Hematologic Malignancies patient population knowledge
• Oncology Nurse Certification
• Knowledge of complications associated with hematological oncology conditions
• Demonstrated knowledge of immunosuppressive therapies and care of the post-transplant patient
• Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families
