Position Overview:
The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for ensuring that all consolidated financial data is accurately captured within the general ledger system. This role encompasses the oversight of consolidated reporting, detailed analysis of financial results, and the maintenance of essential accounting knowledge required for effective reporting. The individual in this position will manage all accounting functions related to the FSD Producer Owned Reinsurance Companies (PORC) with minimal supervision on routine tasks and general guidance on new projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Invest significant time in acquiring knowledge about insurance accounting, corporate structure, and operational systems.
  • Assist in the preparation of disclosures, annual financial statements, and comprehensive financial analyses.
  • Conduct account reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
  • Generate various reports for PORC in compliance with established guidelines.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations to maintain financial integrity.
  • Engage with financial institutions to ensure proper reconciliation of custodial funds, manage requests for ceding deficits, and oversee deposits according to set protocols.
  • Support the closing process and the preparation of financial statements.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
  • Proficiency in MS 365, particularly Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical capabilities.
  • Understanding of financial systems operations.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related discipline.
  • Experience in insurance accounting is preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of relevant experience.
