Job Title: Public Health Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Public Health Nurse to join our team at the Georgia Department of Public Health. As a Public Health Nurse, you will play a critical role in promoting health and preventing disease in our communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients in a public health setting
  • Assist public health nurses with various tasks and projects
  • Participate in health fairs and educational programs
  • Perform TB screenings and administer PPD skin tests
  • Respond to public health emergencies as directed
  • Use computer technology to collect, store, and retrieve data
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
Requirements:
  • Vocational/Technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college
  • Current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse
  • CPR certification
  • Completion of all necessary orientation and training for Public Health LPN
